Sports Events

Children will be issued with school t-shirts for any sporting activity outside the school. Shirts are returned to the teacher at the end of the activity so your child will require a spare shirt to put on.

We currently join in with Maungakaramea, Otaika, and Portland Schools for

• Swimming Sports
• Athletics
• Cross-Country

We also make use of Sport Northland coaches and events. We currently have a Junior Netball team, the Waiotira Pukeko’s.

Swimming

Pupils at Waiotira School are extremely fortunate to have a school pool and use it daily during the summer months. The school aims to teach children water safety skills and how to swim to survive. Swimming is part of our Health and Physical Wellbeing programme and if a pupil is not able to participate please ensure the school is informed about this.
